Erik Costin joined W+J Construction in 2004 and quickly proved his worth. Over the next 10 years, he performed each position within the company. In 2013, he was named Vice President and Operations Manager. Erik became President and full owner of W+J on June 1, 2024.
Erik holds his own Florida General Contractor’s license and has a Bachelor of Arts in Pre-Law from Lasell University, Massachusetts.

Steve has been in the construction industry for 37 years. Starting in the trenches to owning his own construction company in California. Steve has settled into the Chief Estimating role at W+J where he projects construction costs by collecting and studying information gathering throughout the bidding process. He uses historical data and current market fluctuations to evaluate all bids to determine not only value but their compliance with the plans and specifications.
In his spare time, Steve enjoys traveling and spending time with his wife and family.
Rick was born in Panama and began his construction career with Kunkel & Wiese, working on projects for the Panama Canal Commission, DOD, and Army Corps of Engineers. His work transitioned into marine construction across Central America.
After moving to Rockledge, FL in 1998, Rick worked for Elkins Constructors, building Walmart, Lowes, and senior living communities throughout Florida.
In 2013, he joined W+J Construction as a superintendent, working on projects at Port Canaveral and SpaceX. He worked diligently during this time to assist Erik in growing and bringing the new W+J Construction Company into what it is today. In 2020, Rick moved into a new role as VP of Construction and has been involved in all aspects of W+J Construction operations since. Outside of work, Rick enjoys offshore fishing, diving, camping, and spending time with his wife and four kids.
CPA candidate with experience in corporate management and accounting since 1990 including over 7 years of experience in Public Accounting. She is responsible for our contracts and accounting, auditing, financial statement preparation and analysis, payroll,and tax preparation. Sheryl is a graduate of the University of Arizona with post-graduate work there and at Rollins College.
“Construction is cool,” is Shelley’s favorite line and as Corporate Secretary / Office Manager of W+J she keeps that as her mindset.. Providing high-level administrative support to the management team and leading Human Resources are Shelley’s day-to-day activities. She prepares all documents for RFQ/RFP responses and fills the kitchen with sweet snacks for all staff.
In her free time, you can find Shelley outdoors enjoying paddle boarding, running and cycling.
Dan Herman graduated with honors from the University of Florida M.E. Rinker School of Building Construction. His credentials include LEED Accredited Professional, ASHE Healthcare Construction Certification, RCRA S30 Hazardous/Toxic Waste Management training, FDEP Qualified Stormwater Management Inspector, IAQ/mold remediation training, and several OSHA certifications. His commercial project management experience is supported by past Department-head positions in Customer Service, Quality Assurance, and Construction for major national home builders. Dan focuses on a combination of tight control and dedicated customer service to deliver successful projects.
Chad has over 25 years in the construction industry with a wide range of construction experience in the areas of higher education, K-12 education, performing arts, large regional retail projects, hospital, port construction, package distribution facilities and municipal government projects. He enjoys building lasting relationships on all of his projects and takes great pride in being an integral part of helping to build his local community. He enjoys spending time with his family, paddle boarding and working outside in the garden.
Ricky has being working in the construction industry since 1997 when he started as an Office Clerk. A few years later, he obtained a Bachelor Degree in Construction Management from Polytechnical University of Puerto Rico where he graduated Magna Cum Laude. Ricky relocated to Florida and was hired by W+J Construction in 2014. Currently, Ricky is the only Latin-American Project Manager with the company and has been involved in many projects for clients like Space X, Morton Salt, Viera Company, Makoto’s Dressing, Fresenius Kidney Centers, Florida Health Care and Brevard Health Alliance among others. In his spare time, Ricky is a freelance Photographer, and has brought his photography talent to the table and has been the W+J photographer for the last few years.
Travis started his career in the construction industry in 2012 and has been a member of the W+J family since 2018. He has successfully completed a wide range of projects within the aviation, aerospace, seaport, retail, office space, municipal government, religious, and higher education sectors. He grew up on a farm in rural Illinois and moved to Florida for his Bachelor of Science in Construction Management and M.B.A in Project Management from Florida Institute of Technology. Travis is also a Leadership Brevard Class of 2022 Graduate (best class ever) and acquired his Florida Certified General Contractors License in 2022. He is an active member in the Brevard County community sitting on multiple boards and member of several networking groups.
In his spare time, Travis enjoys wrenching on and racing cars, boating and fishing, cooking, and spending time with friends and family. He is also the proud dog dad of Leo; who occasionally welcomes our guests to the office.

Beyond his construction career, Andrew has also served as a Firefighter/Paramedic, demonstrating his dedication to community service and safety.
At home, Andrew enjoys life with his wife, Amanda, and their 3 children, Austin, Avery and Ace. In his spare time, you can often find him working on home projects, or on the Indian River sailing or fishing with his family.
Bradley started his career in the construction industry in 2011 working on projects across the country and internationally ranging from Commercial, Senior Living, K-12 Education, Industrial/Manufacturing, and Oil & Gas. Bradley and his family relocated to Brevard County in 2017 from rural West Tennessee. Not known as a man of few words, he believes in building relationships that last beyond the end of each project. Bradley has been involved with a local youth sports charity as both a board member and coach, providing life skills that extend well beyond the football field. He enjoys fishing and being outdoors with his wife and three children.
Weston’s construction experience began in 2008. His experience includes heavy civil work specializing in foundations and bridges, experience as a project manager within commercial and civil construction in the transportation field, and obtaining his general contractor’s license in 2018.
During his free time, Weston and his wife spend most of their time at the football fields where he coaches; their son plays as a linebacker and center, and their daughter is a cheerleader. He also enjoys playing golf, hunting, spending time with his family, and cheering on the Kansas City Chiefs.
Zach grew up in the construction industry surrounded by numerous family members in a variety of roles. He graduated with a Construction Management Degree from East Carolina University and was a Project Engineer prior to joining W+J as Assistant Project Manager. In his free time, he enjoys fishing, golfing, and enjoying the beach.
As a Project Engineer at W+J, Joanie reviews all submittals to ensure they meet plans and specifications before forwarding them to architects, engineers, and other professionals for approval. She also oversees the seamless management of project closeouts. Renowned for her expertise in mastering the software tools essential to her role, Joanie is an invaluable asset to the W+J team.
Her impressive background includes serving in the US Air Force as a law enforcement specialist (now a disabled veteran), complemented by over 20 years of experience working with A&E firms and more than 15 years in the construction field.
Beyond her professional accomplishments, Joanie is deeply involved in her community, actively participating in her local DAV chapter and auxiliary. In her free time, she enjoys softball, bowling, reading, savoring coffee, and indulging in very spicy foods. Joanie’s life is enriched by her two grown children, two grandchildren, and two dogs.
Oscar Johnson has been with W+J since 1999, longer than all other employees in the company. His dedication to W+J is unsurmountable. Oscar assists our project managers and superintendents with material and tool needs as well as scheduling temporary labor force. Oscar also prepares our new project sites with proper signage and fencing and removes them when the project is complete.
Oscar has such a vast amount of W+J knowledge and is that do-all kind of guy we rely on.
Brian brings over 25 years of diverse construction experience, spanning from residential to industrial projects. He began his career in northeast Ohio, where he honed his skills in framing custom homes and masonry work. In 2001, Brian relocated to Florida and joined a commercial and industrial general contractor, where he dedicated 14 years to government projects for prestigious clients such as NASA, Cape Canaveral Air Force Station, and Patrick Air Force Station. He advanced to the role of superintendent in 2004 and earned his Florida State Certified General Contractor’s license in 2007.
Since joining W+J in 2015, Brian has successfully supervised a wide range of projects, always striving to build strong relationships with clients, many of whom have become long-term friends.
Outside of work, Brian is an avid motocross competitor and can often be found at the track. A passionate supporter of the Ohio State Buckeyes, he never misses a Saturday game from September through November, cheering on his team with family and friends
Originally from Chicago, Don has lived in Florida since 1986. His extensive career in the field of construction began at age 18, with a background that includes residential construction and building high-end cabinetry.
Don brings leadership in safety practices with an OSHA-30 certificate, promoting a culture of safety on W+J job sites, as well as a certificate in Construction Quality Management (CQM) from the US Army Corps of Engineers.
During his downtime, Don has enjoyed various pursuits, including being a pilot, building street rods and competitive shooting. He and his wife share six children, five grandchildren, one great-grandchild and four chihuahuas.
Horace has a Bachelor’s of Science degree in Business Administration but his passion is construction, he has been in the business for over 40 years! Over half of that time as a superintendent for commercial-industrial projects. Horace is a great asset to W+J, executing construction projects by organizing, planning, and overseeing project tasks.
When Horace is not working, he is reaching for his golf clubs or heading out to fish.
Jason McGinnis started in the construction industry in 1990. His experience includes outdoor living environments, new build construction and residential and commercial projects. He also has built his experience with 10+ years specializing in historical renovations for both residential and commercial customers. Since joining the W+J Construction team, he has been the superintendent at the Cape Canaveral Space Force Station working on infrastructure construction for Blue Origin and Relativity Space.
Jeff has over 45 years in the construction business and is a fifth-generation carpenter by trade. His experience interfacing with owners, local governments, architects, engineers, purchasing, estimating, scheduling and sub-contractors makes him an asset to the W+J team. Jeff has been a ground up superintendent for more than 26 years and has been a lead for new construction. He holds certifications in technical reviews, LEED technical workshop for new construction, storm water management inspector, and has OSHA 30, EM385 1-1 under his belt.
When he is not working, Jeff enjoys spending time with family, riding his motorcycles, boating and fishing.
Jim comes to W+J as a Senior Superintendent with 40+ years of construction experience. His vast knowledge in the construction field includes projects such as K-12 schools, colleges, fire stations, the Houston Astros stadium, dialysis centers, air traffic control towers, churches, hotels, condos, reverse osmosis plants and prisons.
Before coming aboard W+J, he worked for Halliburton and Adkins North America. Three construction companies in the past 40 years shows his passion for the industry and commitment. He enjoys working at W+J because of great people and strong management team.
Matt has 27 years of healthcare construction experience, is a licensed General Contractor and OSHA 30 certified. He has brought those skill sets to W+J for over 10 years where he runs day-to-day operations, as a Senior Superintendent, at some of our healthcare project job sites.
In his free time, Matt enjoys traveling and going on cruises.
A proud Titusville native, Roy has more than 40 years experience in the construction industry. His background includes building homes and condos in Cocoa Beach and Cocoa Village, as well as constructing, fabricating and outfitting custom yachts, prior to joining the W+J Team.
Those who work with Roy know him to be self-motivated, honest and down-to-earth, with the ability to work independently. His dedication to delivering outstanding results and ensuring customer satisfaction makes him a reliable and valued member of our team.
Tim started working in the carpentry field right out of high school in 2015. When he moved to Idaho with his wife, he began working for a company specializing in commercial construction and high-end homes. Tim continued to progress in his construction experience and worked his way into an entry level superintendent role in 2020. He moved to Florida from Idaho in 2022 to work for W+J. He prides himself in producing high quality customer service and strives for excellence in the field. It is his goal to continue learning each day to further his knowledge about the profession. Tim enjoys spending time with his wife and kids on the weekends fishing, on the water and showing the kids how to enjoy what life has to offer.
Kyle Berry is no stranger to W+J Construction, as he worked in the sign industry locally for 22+ years. Prior to joining the team at W+J, he worked as a Superintendent at Ceres Marine where he oversaw all operations of logistics with the cruise industry. Kyle was born and raised in Brevard County and attending Rockeldge High school. Kyle has 4 children of which keep him busy taking them to sport events and practices.
Kyle also enjoys watching women’s softball and football, fishing and spending time outdoors.
Ernie has 10+ years in the construction industry with projects such as primary schools, colleges, universities, and multifamily construction. His knowledge of purchasing and scheduling along with experience with interfacing with owners, architects, engineers and subcontractors makes him a great fit here at W+J Construction. He has certifications in; stormwater management inspector, and OSHA 30.
In his free time, Ernie enjoys spending time with his family, fishing and working on DIY projects at home.
Matt T. King is a dedicated superintendent with experience in health care, project management and production management. He understands the importance of staying organized and communicating effectively with staff, customers, and partners. He is OSHA 10 and SWPPP certified as well as credentialed as a home inspector.
When Matt and his wife are not busy entertaining and spending time with their four children, he is coaching youth baseball, playing country music, writing, and has fun with his French Bull Dog.
Chris has over 20 years of commercial construction experience as a laborer and superintendent. He has been involved with projects ranging from restaurants, financial institutions, buildouts, and custom homes. His skill set is diverse, but carpentry is his specialty, and he is SWPPP certified.
In his free time, Chris enjoys spending time with his German Shepard and with his hard-working children one of whom is a Sheriff Deputy and one in nursing school.
W+J Superintendent Wayne Armstrong made his home in Florida in 1995 from Massachusetts. He comes to W+J with over 40 years of industry experience as a superintendent in commercial and residential construction, is a master carpenter, and is OSHA 30 certified. Since moving to Florida, he has supervised numerous renovation projects at Patrick Space Force Base, Cape Canaveral Space Force Station, and Kennedy Space Center, to name a few. While at project sites, he enjoys working closely with the client, helping them with the design process while extruding high-quality craftsmanship work.
In his spare time, when he is not helping others with projects, he enjoys spending time with his son, traveling, cooking, watching The Red Sox and New England Patriots, and enjoys shows at The King Center.
Mike Lorenzo has over 25 years of commercial construction experience and is a form carpenter by trade. He has been involved in multi-story structure work for brands such as Hilton, Marriott, Rosen Hotels, a variety of Orlando venues, and most recently, Orange Theory Fitness, Massage Envy, and Foxtail Coffee.
Mike is a Brevard Native but recently moved back to the area after relocating for more than 30 years. Now that he has returned, he looks forward to spending his free time enjoying all of what the area has to offer.
Superintendent Anthony Caldwell is an Air Force Veteran, having served two tours in Afghanistan and two tours in Iraq. He entered the construction trade with his father, a painting contractor, and continued his career in construction upon returning home from the Air Force. His 16-year career in construction management experience and residential construction, where he built homes throughout Orange, Volusia, and Brevard counties, makes him an asset at W+J Construction, and he is SWPPP certified.
During his free time, Anthony enjoys offshore fishing, live music, and the beautiful outdoors.
Mike has a diverse construction background ranging from residential to commercial, and he has been a superintendent since 2006. As he moved into the role of superintendent, he shifted to experience with government contracts for the U.S. Space Force, where he worked on various infrastructure projects. Along with his experience as a superintendent, he has certifications in MOT, stormwater inspection, and OSHA10 certification, and he is currently studying for his Florida Contractors exam.
Staying healthy is important to Mike. He enjoys surfing, spending time outdoors, staying active, eating well, and going to the gym nearly every day after work.
Calvin “Cal” Smith, a Satellite Beach, Florida native and Satellite High School graduate, launched his career in construction soon after finishing school. He successfully owned and operated his own company for over five years and brings extensive experience to W+J as both a Project Manager and Superintendent. Outside of work, Cal leads an active lifestyle, enjoying weightlifting, surfing, fishing, and competing in triathlons.
Originally hailing from Chicago, Kurt has spent the past 13 years in Georgia before relocating to Florida to be closer to family and escape the snow. He served for three and a half years in the Army Corps of Engineers as a Combat Engineer and owned a building company for the past eight years prior to joining the W+J Team.
Kurt possesses a comprehensive understanding of the building trades and strives to maintain a well-rounded skill set. His experience encompasses light commercial projects, custom home construction, home renovations, and value engineering, with specific expertise in electrical, plumbing, heating, and air conditioning.
Outside of work, Kurt enjoys spending time with his wife and their two children. He is an avid golfer and loves being near the ocean, engaging in diving and fishing. Additionally, he finds fulfillment in coaching track and wrestling.
Ty retired from the Army after 21 years of dedicated service as a Paratrooper and Combat Engineer. Originally from California, he traveled extensively before settling in Florida in 2020. With three decades of experience in the construction industry, Ty’s expertise encompasses custom homes, production homes, multi-family units, and commercial projects. He returned from retirement to join W+J Construction as a Superintendent, where he is committed to our drive for excellence.
Passionate about mentorship and teamwork, Ty enjoys sharing his extensive building knowledge with others. He previously served on the Board of Directors for Habitat for Humanity in California, reflecting his commitment to community service.
Ty and his wife, Michelle, have two grown children: a son currently serving in the Army in Colorado and a daughter who is a freelance journalist and ghost writer in Utah. In his free time, Ty has a keen interest in exotic birds and enjoys scuba diving.

Oscar assists our project managers and superintendents with material and tool needs as well as scheduling temporary labor force. Oscar also prepares our new project sites with proper signage and fencing and removes them when the project is complete.
Oscar has such a vast amount of W+J knowledge and is that do-all kind of guy we rely on.
Brian brings over 25 years of diverse construction experience, spanning from residential to industrial projects. He began his career in northeast Ohio, where he honed his skills in framing custom homes and masonry work. In 2001, Brian relocated to Florida and joined a commercial and industrial general contractor, where he dedicated 14 years to government projects for prestigious clients such as NASA, Cape Canaveral Air Force Station, and Patrick Air Force Station. He advanced to the role of superintendent in 2004 and earned his Florida State Certified General Contractor’s license in 2007.
Since joining W+J in 2015, Brian has successfully supervised a wide range of projects, always striving to build strong relationships with clients, many of whom have become long-term friends.
Outside of work, Brian is an avid motocross competitor and can often be found at the track. A passionate supporter of the Ohio State Buckeyes, he never misses a Saturday game from September through November, cheering on his team with family and friends
Originally from Chicago, Don has lived in Florida since 1986. His extensive career in the field of construction began at age 18, with a background that includes residential construction and building high-end cabinetry.
Don brings leadership in safety practices with an OSHA-30 certificate, promoting a culture of safety on W+J job sites, as well as a certificate in Construction Quality Management (CQM) from the US Army Corps of Engineers.
During his downtime, Don has enjoyed various pursuits, including being a pilot, building street rods and competitive shooting. He and his wife share six children, five grandchildren, one great-grandchild and four chihuahuas.
Horace has a Bachelor’s of Science degree in Business Administration but his passion is construction, he has been in the business for over 40 years! Over half of that time as a superintendent for commercial-industrial projects. Horace is a great asset to W+J, executing construction projects by organizing, planning, and overseeing project tasks.
When Horace is not working, he is reaching for his golf clubs or heading out to fish.
Jason McGinnis started in the construction industry in 1990. His experience includes outdoor living environments, new build construction and residential and commercial projects. He also has built his experience with 10+ years specializing in historical renovations for both residential and commercial customers. Since joining the W+J Construction team, he has been the superintendent at the Cape Canaveral Space Force Station working on infrastructure construction for Blue Origin and Relativity Space.
Jeff has over 45 years in the construction business and is a fifth-generation carpenter by trade. His experience interfacing with owners, local governments, architects, engineers, purchasing, estimating, scheduling and sub-contractors makes him an asset to the W+J team. Jeff has been a ground up superintendent for more than 26 years and has been a lead for new construction. He holds certifications in technical reviews, LEED technical workshop for new construction, storm water management inspector, and has OSHA 30, EM385 1-1 under his belt.
When he is not working, Jeff enjoys spending time with family, riding his motorcycles, boating and fishing.
Jim comes to W+J as a Senior Superintendent with 40+ years of construction experience. His vast knowledge in the construction field includes projects such as K-12 schools, colleges, fire stations, the Houston Astros stadium, dialysis centers, air traffic control towers, churches, hotels, condos, reverse osmosis plants and prisons.
Before coming aboard W+J, he worked for Halliburton and Adkins North America. Three construction companies in the past 40 years shows his passion for the industry and commitment. He enjoys working at W+J because of great people and strong management team.
Matt has 27 years of healthcare construction experience, is a licensed General Contractor and OSHA 30 certified. He has brought those skill sets to W+J for over 10 years where he runs day-to-day operations, as a Senior Superintendent, at some of our healthcare project job sites.
In his free time, Matt enjoys traveling and going on cruises.
A proud Titusville native, Roy has more than 40 years experience in the construction industry. His background includes building homes and condos in Cocoa Beach and Cocoa Village, as well as constructing, fabricating and outfitting custom yachts, prior to joining the W+J Team.
Those who work with Roy know him to be self-motivated, honest and down-to-earth, with the ability to work independently. His dedication to delivering outstanding results and ensuring customer satisfaction makes him a reliable and valued member of our team.
Tim started working in the carpentry field right out of high school in 2015. When he moved to Idaho with his wife, he began working for a company specializing in commercial construction and high-end homes. Tim continued to progress in his construction experience and worked his way into an entry level superintendent role in 2020. He moved to Florida from Idaho in 2022 to work for W+J. He prides himself in producing high quality customer service and strives for excellence in the field. It is his goal to continue learning each day to further his knowledge about the profession. Tim enjoys spending time with his wife and kids on the weekends fishing, on the water and showing the kids how to enjoy what life has to offer.
Kyle Berry is no stranger to W+J Construction, as he worked in the sign industry locally for 22+ years. Prior to joining the team at W+J, he worked as a Superintendent at Ceres Marine where he oversaw all operations of logistics with the cruise industry. Kyle was born and raised in Brevard County and attending Rockeldge High school. Kyle has 4 children of which keep him busy taking them to sport events and practices.
Kyle also enjoys watching women’s softball and football, fishing and spending time outdoors.
Ernie has 10+ years in the construction industry with projects such as primary schools, colleges, universities, and multifamily construction. His knowledge of purchasing and scheduling along with experience with interfacing with owners, architects, engineers and subcontractors makes him a great fit here at W+J Construction. He has certifications in; stormwater management inspector, and OSHA 30.
In his free time, Ernie enjoys spending time with his family, fishing and working on DIY projects at home.
Matt T. King is a dedicated superintendent with experience in health care, project management and production management. He understands the importance of staying organized and communicating effectively with staff, customers, and partners. He is OSHA 10 and SWPPP certified as well as credentialed as a home inspector.
When Matt and his wife are not busy entertaining and spending time with their four children, he is coaching youth baseball, playing country music, writing, and has fun with his French Bull Dog.
Chris has over 20 years of commercial construction experience as a laborer and superintendent. He has been involved with projects ranging from restaurants, financial institutions, buildouts, and custom homes. His skill set is diverse, but carpentry is his specialty, and he is SWPPP certified.
In his free time, Chris enjoys spending time with his German Shepard and with his hard-working children one of whom is a Sheriff Deputy and one in nursing school.
W+J Superintendent Wayne Armstrong made his home in Florida in 1995 from Massachusetts. He comes to W+J with over 40 years of industry experience as a superintendent in commercial and residential construction, is a master carpenter, and is OSHA 30 certified. Since moving to Florida, he has supervised numerous renovation projects at Patrick Space Force Base, Cape Canaveral Space Force Station, and Kennedy Space Center, to name a few. While at project sites, he enjoys working closely with the client, helping them with the design process while extruding high-quality craftsmanship work.
In his spare time, when he is not helping others with projects, he enjoys spending time with his son, traveling, cooking, watching The Red Sox and New England Patriots, and enjoys shows at The King Center.
Mike Lorenzo has over 25 years of commercial construction experience and is a form carpenter by trade. He has been involved in multi-story structure work for brands such as Hilton, Marriott, Rosen Hotels, a variety of Orlando venues, and most recently, Orange Theory Fitness, Massage Envy, and Foxtail Coffee.
Mike is a Brevard Native but recently moved back to the area after relocating for more than 30 years. Now that he has returned, he looks forward to spending his free time enjoying all of what the area has to offer.
Superintendent Anthony Caldwell is an Air Force Veteran, having served two tours in Afghanistan and two tours in Iraq. He entered the construction trade with his father, a painting contractor, and continued his career in construction upon returning home from the Air Force. His 16-year career in construction management experience and residential construction, where he built homes throughout Orange, Volusia, and Brevard counties, makes him an asset at W+J Construction, and he is SWPPP certified.
During his free time, Anthony enjoys offshore fishing, live music, and the beautiful outdoors.
Mike has a diverse construction background ranging from residential to commercial, and he has been a superintendent since 2006. As he moved into the role of superintendent, he shifted to experience with government contracts for the U.S. Space Force, where he worked on various infrastructure projects. Along with his experience as a superintendent, he has certifications in MOT, stormwater inspection, and OSHA10 certification, and he is currently studying for his Florida Contractors exam.
Staying healthy is important to Mike. He enjoys surfing, spending time outdoors, staying active, eating well, and going to the gym nearly every day after work.
Calvin “Cal” Smith, a Satellite Beach, Florida native and Satellite High School graduate, launched his career in construction soon after finishing school. He successfully owned and operated his own company for over five years and brings extensive experience to W+J as both a Project Manager and Superintendent. Outside of work, Cal leads an active lifestyle, enjoying weightlifting, surfing, fishing, and competing in triathlons.
Originally hailing from Chicago, Kurt has spent the past 13 years in Georgia before relocating to Florida to be closer to family and escape the snow. He served for three and a half years in the Army Corps of Engineers as a Combat Engineer and owned a building company for the past eight years prior to joining the W+J Team.
Kurt possesses a comprehensive understanding of the building trades and strives to maintain a well-rounded skill set. His experience encompasses light commercial projects, custom home construction, home renovations, and value engineering, with specific expertise in electrical, plumbing, heating, and air conditioning.
Outside of work, Kurt enjoys spending time with his wife and their two children. He is an avid golfer and loves being near the ocean, engaging in diving and fishing. Additionally, he finds fulfillment in coaching track and wrestling.
Ty retired from the Army after 21 years of dedicated service as a Paratrooper and Combat Engineer. Originally from California, he traveled extensively before settling in Florida in 2020. With three decades of experience in the construction industry, Ty’s expertise encompasses custom homes, production homes, multi-family units, and commercial projects. He returned from retirement to join W+J Construction as a Superintendent, where he is committed to our drive for excellence.
Passionate about mentorship and teamwork, Ty enjoys sharing his extensive building knowledge with others. He previously served on the Board of Directors for Habitat for Humanity in California, reflecting his commitment to community service.
Ty and his wife, Michelle, have two grown children: a son currently serving in the Army in Colorado and a daughter who is a freelance journalist and ghost writer in Utah. In his free time, Ty has a keen interest in exotic birds and enjoys scuba diving.
