Katie Smallwood joined W+J Construction as a Project Manager in May 2026, bringing more than a decade of construction industry experience and a relationship-focused approach to every project. A Brevard County native, Katie earned her Associate Degree from Eastern Florida State College while working full-time, building a strong foundation through both education and hands-on experience. She also holds an OSHA-30 certification and has been working in construction since 2013.
Katie began her career with a residential subcontractor in Melbourne before expanding her experience with a commercial general contractor in the Denver Metro area, where she spent six years managing projects and developing her passion for commercial construction. Growing up around the construction industry inspired her to pursue a career in the field and fostered a lasting appreciation for quality craftsmanship and hard work.
Known for her personable nature and commitment to putting clients’ interests first, Katie values the strong relationships that are built throughout the construction process. She enjoys W+J’s team-centered culture and collaborative environment, which aligns perfectly with her preferred way of working. Outside the office, Katie is devoted to her family and enjoys camping, exploring local state parks, and spending time outdoors with them.
