BCSO, Barbara A. Pill Law Enforcement Facility
In honor of a fallen officer, the Brevard County Sheriff’s Department dedicates its new North Precinct to Deputy Barbara A. Pill. Placed on 2 acres of property, W+J has built the new 18,453 square foot facility, which houses a large multipurpose room, a 2,000 square foot gym including equipment and TV hook up, multiple offices, interview rooms, muster space, an armory, and a sally port. State-of-the-art technology is used throughout the building. Built using cast-in-place concrete, masonry block, and structural steel, this building is designed to withstand wind gusts up to 170 mph. This building and site have been designed to achieve 40 points for LEED® Certification. Pursuing certification is the owner’s decision, and the county decided not to pursue certification.
Other W+J Construction projects for the Brevard County Sheriff’s Department include K9 Junny’s Animal Surgery Center and Building J.
