City of Cocoa, Dr. Joe Lee Smith Community Center
The City of Cocoa selected the Design/Build team of W+J Construction, Tsark Architecture and CEG for the new Dr. Joe Lee Smith Community Center. The concept plan, by Architects RZK, is a 15,435 square foot, single-story community center. The scope of work included final design and construction.
The full size gymnasium features bleachers for viewing basketball, volleyball and other court sports. There are multiple meeting rooms and classrooms, along with a kitchen, administrative office and restrooms for men and women. The scope also included a resurface/paint to the outside basketball court, resurfacing the existing pool and repairs within the pump house.
Other W+J Construction projects for the City of Cocoa include Cocoa Fire Station Headquarters, Station 1, Cocoa Fire Station 2, Cocoa Fire Station 3, Provost Park, and Stradley Park.
