City of West Melbourne, Field of Dreams
The City of West Melbourne selected W+J Construction for the Space Coast Field of Dreams project, an all-access sports park for children and young adults with special needs. The 5-acre park included demolishing current park equipment and relocation of the pond. Park features include fully shaded rubberized playing surfaces for baseball, soccer, and basketball; 8900 SF of shaded playground space includes specially designed equipment, and a 2500 SF concession stand completes the park. Additional flex space will be set aside for play space, ceremonies, and performances. All facilities are designed to accommodate wheelchairs and other mobility equipment. The large parking areas include a total of 78 accessible spaces.
