Family Promise of Brevard
Family Promise of Brevard is a non-profit entity dedicated to helping families experiencing homelessness and less-than-desired income situations in the community achieve sustainable independence through a community-teamwork-based response. In 2021, Family Promise worked with the City of Cocoa to renovate the Cocoa Fire Station on First Street and transform it into their headquarters. In 2022, Family Promise selected W+J Construction to manage the project, and the transformation was remarkable. The new facilities were designed to provide their families with a place to gather, including a living room, a playground, showers, washers and dryers, a kitchen, and storage space for families being served. The building also has a reception, several office spaces and storage for the staff, a meeting room, and a classroom, among others on the administrative side. The exterior was also renovated with additional parking spaces, lighting, a dumpster pad, a bike rack, and beautiful landscaping; everything is ADA-friendly.
