The Center for Space Education, KSC
Built on six acres at Kennedy Space Center Visitor Complex, FL., The Center for Space Education (CSE) was the second phase of a two-phase memorial to the astronauts. The first phase, Space Mirror Astronaut Memorial, was completed following the CSE by W+J Construction.
The Center for Space Education is a 47,000 SF insulated, metal panel construction with over 33,000 SF of classrooms and office space and has won three architectural awards.
CSE provides state-of-the-art facilities and program support for NASA’s educational programs, making them accessible to more students and teachers. The design and construction of the building were funded through the voluntary contributions of hundreds of thousands of Florida citizens who purchased Challenger license plates.
Other W+J Construction projects at the Space Center include The Rocket Garden , Space Mirror Astronaut Memorial, and The Apollo/Saturn V Center.
